Philip Pohren and Jeremy Covey were offered principal contracts at Winston R-6 for the 2007-2008 school year after an executive session of the regular meeting of the school board.
Bills in the amount of $143,963.43 were presented for payment. Funds were transferred as follows: Teachers – $87,282.62; Fund 3 – $0; Fund 4 – $0.
Superintendent Lisa Bielby discussed insurance and repair on the new building during her report.
Mr. Pohren reported a 93.43% attendance rate for grades K-6 for the month of January. The enrollment for grades K-6 is 98 and for preschool is 16. Mr. Covey reported a 91% attendance rate for grades 7-12 for the month of January. The enrollment for grades 7-12 is 87.
Truman Edwards and Emily McFee are the Students of the Month.
The board carried a motion to implement a modified tutoring program.
The school is working on parental committee for MSIP/CSIP.
The following monthly program reports were accepted: Library/Media Program Report – Mrs. Gillian/ Mrs. Henderson; Health Services – Mrs. Millsap; Professional Development Program- Linda Warlord; Disaggregate Report Test Data – Mr. Pohren and Mr. Covey.
The board discussed the Calendar of Events
The board entered into executive session to discuss personnel.
The school calendar was adopted.
The board considered the purchase of student records conversion from STI/ Lemberger and motioned to implement STI conversion as long as it does not exceed $8,930.
The next regular board meeting is Thursday, March 15.
