Funeral services will be held at 11 am. on Saturday, March 10, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Care Hospice, Gallatin.
Doris Walton 93, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin.

Mrs. Walton was born July 28, 1913, to Danny and Maude (Beck) Blackburn in Rural Daviess County. She attended the Shinar Country School south of Gallatin and graduated from Gallatin High School in 1931. After graduation she attended college at Maryville where she received her teaching certificate. After college Mrs. Walton taught for several years at the Shinar Country School.
She was united in marriage to Charles Owen Walton April 25, 1936, in Kingston. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1996.
The couple raised their family and made their home in the Gallatin area.
Mrs. Walton was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gallatin and a member of the Art Club in Gallatin.
She loved to paint and did several historic pieces of the Gallatin area. Her instructor at the Albright Art Gallery in St. Joseph was noted area artist, D.E. Andorfer. Doris loved to sew and took on many jobs for people throughout the community. Doris was also an accomplished carpenter and could do about anything that needed to be done around the home. As a young lady she taught Red Cross Swimming Lessons. She played the piano for her own enjoyment. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by her family and many friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Melba Warnes and Ola Grove, two brothers, Marvin and Archie Blackburn, and grandson Craig Stephens.
Survivors: sons, Conrad Walton, Gallatin, Mo., Jerry Walton, Anaheim Hills, Calif., daughter, Millie Stephens, Kansas City, Mo., sister, Evelyn Hockensmith, Gallatin, Mo., five grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
