After returning from an executive session of their regular meeting held Monday, Feb. 12, the Daviess County R-3 Board of Education offered the following contracts: half time (not to exceed 550 hours) to Wendell Burns as high school counselor, $18,850; half time (not to exceed 550 hours) to Chris Gannon as a science teacher and curriculum director, $18,850; 11 month to Kristi Weldon as high school principal, $50,000;10 month to Becky Morris as elementary principal, $45,000.

Resignation were accepted from Larry Heaps, Pat Heaps, and Jeff Rush.
The financial statement was presented by Ms. Kirby. Bills were paid as presented.
Cecil McCrary, Janellda Weber, David Iddings and Gene Morris are candidates for the two board member positions for the April election.
A bid has been received on the roofing project; however, Mr. Evans was unable to attend the meeting and his presentation and discussion was tabled until the March meeting.
At Risk and Dropout Rate program evaluations were tabled until the March meeting.
Ms. Kirby presented the CSIP Goals for Board review. The board approved the CSIP plan.
The state review is scheduled for Feb. 27.
Bus route revisions and pick-up times were reviewed by the board and approved as presented.
During administrative reports, Ms. Weldon reported on the FFA and FCCLA community appreciation breakfast; FFA member auction; and the science fair. The track team needs new uniforms in order to meet the MSHSAA requirements.
Mrs. Morris told the board about the planning for the upcoming elementary basketball tournaments and the success of Jump Rope for Heart.
The North Daviess R-3 School District held its regular board meeting on Monday, Feb. 12, at the elementary school lunchroom in Coffey. Board members present were David Iddings, Jason Lewis, Chris Nelson, P.J. Burnett, Debbie Ray and Doug Baker. Beverly Hunter was absent. Also present were Superintendent: Julie Kirby, acting secretary: Debbie Ray, treasurer, Kristi Weldon, Becky Morris and Bobbie Pyles.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, March 12, at the elementary school lunchroom in Coffey.
