Jack and Mildred Mooney will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 26. On that date 60 years ago, at 8 o’clock, Miss Mildred Lane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lane of Kansas City became the bride of Jack D. Mooney, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.R. Mooney. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E.R. Young at the Jackson Avenue Christian parsonage before a fireplace banked with gardenias, cyclamen, ferns and potted flowers. The double ring ceremony was used with the parents of both persons as witnesses. Also present were the immediate relatives of the bride and groom. The bride was attired in a street length dress of powder blue with trimming of white and pearl buttons at the neckline. Her corsage was of red roses, fern and baby breath. The groom wore a blue gabardine business suit. A reception was given immediately afterwards at the home of the bride’s parents. A buffet dinner was served to a large number of friends and relatives. The table was decorated with a huge bouquet of snapdragons, gladioli and ferns; also a three-tier wedding cake with a miniature bride and groom.
