During Law Day on Feb. 20, a change of venue to Livingston County was granted to Elbert Fry of Gallatin, charged with two counts of child molestation first degree. The case has been assigned to Judge James Valbracht, Associate Circuit Judge of Livingston County. John Young of Mercer County has been appointed as special prosecutor.
Additional Law Day proceedings will be reported in next week’s issue.
Criminal cases filed: State vs. Deanna L. Roedel, Pattonsburg, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child in ritual/ceremony, second degree, class D felonies; State vs. Karl M. Robbins, Earth City, two counts child molestation first degree, class B felony; State vs. Douglas P. Smith, one count child molestation first degree, class C felony; State vs. Jamie L. Scott, Coffey, possession of controlled substance, class C felony.
Civil cases filed: Robert S. Fredricks, Pattonsburg, vs. Amanda Jean Fredricks, Coffey, for dissolution of marriage; Randy and Joyce Eads, Altamont, vs. Earl Gregory Brown, Kim Brown, and Brown Lumber Company LLC for breach of contract.
County Commission
Lance Critten, David Holcomb, and Danny Heldenbrand filed their certificates of training for 2007.
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported repairs that are being made this week.
Sue Bird, circuit clerk, met with the commission regarding the purchase of office equipment and the rewiring of state equipment. The county will not pay for the rewiring and moving of state-owned equipment.
Annie Gibson, prosecuting attorney, met with the commission regarding legal matters and office conditions.
David Wilson, Gallatin Area Revitalization Association, met with the commission regarding the reconstruction of the top of the dome and the display case for the old time capsule contents.
The commission contacted two elevator service companies attempting to find someone to take over the repairs and maintenance of the elevator.
The commission met with Brent Elliott, DeKalb County Associate Circuit Judge, regarding video arraignments at the regional jail. He had contacted both 43rd Circuit Judges for approval. Specifications for implementation have been requested from the State Office of Court Administration.

County Clerk
Absentee ballots for the April election are now available in the office.
Sheriff’s Office
David W. Dube, 43, Coffey, was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, class D felony, and domestic assault third degree, class A misdemeanor. Bond was set at $10,000.
Steven H. Prindle, Jamesport, was arrested Feb. 16 for domestic assault 2nd degree, class C felony. He posted $20,000 bond.
Linda White, 42, Kansas City, was charged Feb. 18 with trespassing 1st degree and property damage 2nd degree, both class B misdemeanors. She is being held on $1,000 bond.
Joshua Gott, 27, Trenton, was arrested Feb. 15 on a probation violation for statutory rape, class B felony. Bond was denied.
Eddie Bowman, 52, Jamesport, was arrested Feb. 17 for failure to return to confinement. Bond was denied.
Daniel N. Robb, 25, Iowa City, Iowa, was arrested Feb. 19 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He posted $750 bond.
Lisa Workman, 18, and Allen R. Thompson, 18, both of Rosemount, Minn., were charged Feb. 18 with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. They each posted $250 bond.
Kenneth Nupp, 41, Ridgeway, was charged Feb. 20 with passing bad checks, felony. He is being held on $15,500 bond.
Ronald G. Wilson, 50, Trenton, was charged Feb. 19 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of DWI. He is being held on $1,000 bond.

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $66.50 for moving traffic violations and $114.50 in most criminal cases.

Traffic Fines
The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $406.50 for six tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $204 for 7 cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $56.50 for moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:

Sherrie L. Stidham, Gallatin, was fined $47.50 for failure to register vehicle and $10 for no seat belt.
Roy E. Warner, Altamont, was fined $47.50 for spinning tires in parking lot, $27.50 for speeding, and $280 for DWI.
Gale L. Cram, Gallatin, was fined $27.50 for failure to stop at stop sign and $25 for no proof of insurance.
Civil Court
Consent judgments were entered in favor of the plaintiff in the following breach of contract cases: Midwestern Health vs. Michael and Reita Youngs; Capital One Bank vs. Jo A. Tinsley; Hawker Financial Corporation vs. Sylvia Ableidinger; Daimler Chrysler Financial vs. Nancy and Timothy Andrew. A consent judgement was entered for Capital One Bank against Kristy J. Horton for suit on account.
Default judgements were entered in favor of the plaintiff in the following breach of contract cases: Sullivan County Ambulance vs. Jeannette R. Service; CACV of Colorado vs. Lisa Dickson. A default judgment was entered for Midwestern Health Management against Clinton and Loretta Pratt for suit on account.
Ford Motor Credit Co. vs. Albert W. McAfee was dismissed by the court with prejudice.
Capital One vs. Teresa A. Thompson was dismissed by the court without prejudice.
Small Claims
