GHS all-staters headed to MWSU
Gallatin R-5 seniors Colt Bohannon and Nic Burrell have committed themselves to Missouri Western State University, where they will play football for the Griffons, beginning this fall.
Bohannon will walk on defensive end after getting high marks at a tryout for MWSU coaches. "They were very impressed with Colt, and after looking at him they felt he was as close to a scholarship player as anyone in their walk-on process," said Gallatin head coach Mark Cole.
Burrell was heavily recruited by the Griffons as a safety, and he feels the Griffons aren’t far away from competing some day for a national championship.
"Nic will excel, I’m sure, because of his hard work and commitment," said Coach Cole. "I certainly look for him to be a starter some day, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually move him to outside linebacker, because of his size," he added.
