Spring is coming early to Daviess County this year through the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days program.
The long-standing fund-raising campaign celebrates the society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease by offering daffodils to donors in appreciation of contributions.
For a donation of $10, local residents will receive a bouquet of fresh-cut daffodils to support the fight against cancer and share hope for a future without this disease. The society has appointed Pam Howard as chairman for Daviess County’s 2007 Daffodil Days campaign.
“I encourage everyone to help paint our community yellow with daffodils this spring to show our support of the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days,” said Howard. “Everyone from school children to area churches and businesses are encouraged to get behind this worthwhile project.”
Those wishing to support the project may buy 10 daffodil stems for $10; a sunshine bouquet with a glass vase and 10 daffodils for $15; or a bear and a bunch of daffodil stems for $25.

Orders should be placed by Feb. 23. Flowers will be delivered March 9 uncut so you may enjoy the bloom longer. You may even have the flowers delivered to someone else with a card from you.
