An initial review of all existing ordinances took place at the Jan. 2 meeting. Next will be the identification of additional ordinances the board may propose at the next board meeting, which is set for Monday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. at Winston Town Hall.
All existing ordinances and possible new ordinances may be considered during this process. Discussion will include what the law of the village will be, how it will be enforced, and what the penalties will be for violation.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
All existing ordinances, including: Curfew Hours; Public Nuisances – litter, weeds, junk etc.; Streets and Gutters; Junkyards & Junk Vehicles; House Trailers & Mobile Homes; Tax, Electricity Firms; Weeds & Brush; Liquor & Beer; Dangerous & Unsafe Structures; Town Hall Usage; Fair Housing; Board Member and Employee Pay; Dogs – Dangerous, Nuisances, Strays, Care; Sewer Service, Billing & Collection; Mandatory Trash Service; Municipal Court; Park Usage.
Possible new ordinances, including: All-Terrain Vehicles; Animals in Village Limits; Business Licensing or Taxes; Criminal Offenses; Disturbing the Peace; Enforcement & Penalties; Open Meetings & Records; Operation of Village Board; Traffic Offenses.
The board may discuss any possible new ordinance, and/or continue discussion of any existing ordinance at this time.
