During their regular meeting held  Jan. 22, City Administrator Zac Johnson told the Gallatin Board of aldermen that he had met with representatives from USDA and Snyder & Associates regarding the sewer project. The city still has some available grant money that can be used on sewer plant improvements.

Police Chief Mark Richards reported on activity from Jan. 8 to Jan. 21. Reports Taken / Tickets Given: 1 Accident; 1 Zero Tolerance; 1 Property Damage; 1 Loitering; 1 Stealing; 2-Warrant Arrest; 2 Nuisance Violations; 1 Assault on an Officer; 1 Fail to Register Motor Vehicle. There are nine dogs in the pound.
Chief Richards commented that DARE will be gearing up for graduation in Gallatin and Winston.
Bills totalling in the amount of $21,765.85 were approved for payment.
After discussion, the board approved the 2006 Annual Financial Statement with the Cemetery Account correction.
Discussion was held on the parking issue on East Corrine. Mr. Johnson will contact property owner regarding the issue.
Mayor Ballew commented about placing a drop box at Brown or Greenwood Cemetery for donations.
During comments by aldermen, Dan Lockridge inquired about the filing requirements for a sales tax issue on the ballot. Mr. Johnson will check into this.
Public comments were made about the good job the street crews did over the weekend.
The board entered into closed session pursuant to legal actions and litigation and hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting employees.
