The old saying, when life hands you lemons, make lemonade, I say, when Old Man Winter hands you snow, make snowmen. While driving around town, I have noticed so many unique and cute snowmen. It does my heart good, to see that snowman building isn’t a lost art, but still a fun way to get the most out of what was given us and a great fun family project.
Here at city hall, we are making plans for the spring season, although we know, without any doubt, that Old Man Winter isn’t done with us yet. Our city crews were out at all hours over the past week, trying to clean the city streets so that traveling was easier for us. One thing is for sure, we sure miss Teddy, but we want his back surgery recovery to be as comfortable as it can be. But knowing Teddy, lying flat on his back and not jumping in to help, is probably one of the hardest things for him to deal with. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
City hall is trying hard to finish up our city banner project that was started last summer. We now have a deadline of Feb. 15 to get all orders and monies in, so that “uniforming the city” will take place this spring. Any business, civic organization or organization is encouraged to stop by city hall or call.
There is only a $100 sponsorship for the banner, which includes your personalization on a banner. They will be randomly placed on the light poles around town. It will sure make the town look good. If you don’t understand what they’re all about, feel free to contact Zac and he will talk to you about them.
The banners will be approximately 2 ½ by 5 feet in size with the same imprint design on all of them and your company’s or organization’s name.
This is something I”m very excited about and hopefully will have a big response so that we can welcome visitors all over town. Most other towns have these in place and they make their town very welcome and festive. Hopefully getting this project off the ground will give us a little boost this spring and encourage us to clean up our properties.
While looking forward to spring, but knowing all too well that we are in the middle of winter, is what keeps me running to the mail box for the arrival of my new spring seed catalog.
Until next time,
