A motion carried for Larry Hadley, jail administrator, to hire a 2007 budget manager during the December meeting of the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail held on Dec. 29, 2006, at Pattonsburg.
It was reported during the meeting that since Feb. 15, 2006, Daviess County has saved $131,426.58 on inmate housing and DeKalb County has saved $207,094.17. As of Dec. 29, 2006, Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail has a checkbook balance of $359,546.19. The line of credit from Commerce Bank outstanding balance is $115,085.
The Financial Report and Aging Report was read by David Tolen. Sales tax income of $109,290.79 was reported for December. Year-to-date on sales tax income was $508,628.93. The commissary grossed $19,467.05. Swanson income was $319. Evercom check was for $10,918.52.
During old business, training for jail administrator was discussed. Larry Hadley will start Sheriff’s Academy on Jan. 9, 2007. A motion carried to pay the $3,600 tuition for Larry Hadley to attend the academy.
Jail numbers are staying steady at an average of 270 inmates, and overall jail operation is going well, Mr. Hadley stated.
During new business, a motion carried to renew the commerce loan for one more year. A motion carried for the chairman and treasurer to sign all loan procedures.
