A Coffey man received moderate injuries in an accident on Saturday, Jan. 20, at around 8:30 p.m. According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, James Fredricks, 42, was westbound on Rt. B about one mile west of Coffey, when he traveled off the north side of the roadway and down an embankment, striking the ditch. The 1986 Ford pickup overturned and came to rest on its top on the north side of the road in the ditch.

Mr. Fredricks was transported to Harrison County Community Hospital by private vehicle. It is unknown whether or not he was wearing his seat belt.
The pickup was totaled and towed by Bridgmeans of Altamont.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.P. Lynch, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
