Funeral services for Kenneth Mort were held Monday at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church, Building Fund.
Kenneth J. Mort, 90, Gallatin, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at the Liberty Hospital.
Mr. Mort was born June 27, 1916, to Fred H. and Elizabeth (Thomas) Mort in Pawnee County, Neb. The Mort family moved from Nebraska to Cheyenne County, Colo., where Kenneth grew up.
On April 2, 1936, he was united in marriage to Eileen Goetschel in Burlington, Colo. The couple remained in Colorado where they farmed until 1954, when the moved to Missouri, and settled in the Gallatin area.
Mr. Mort continued to farm. After retiring from the farm, he was employed at the Gallatin Motor Company for several years.
Mr. Mort was a member of the National Farmers organization.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Nelegene Ashton.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Eileen, of the home; two sons, Kenneth Mort of Jamesport and John Mort of Gallatin; one sister, Ruth Ingwerson, of Florence, Ore.; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
