Gallatin wrestlers top Albany, 46-33, to move to 3-0 vs. GRC foes
Bulldog varsity wrestlers won six of 11 contested matches last Thursday to defeat Albany, 46-33, in Grand River Conference wrestling action held at Gallatin Middle School.
The night’s matches started at the 103-pound weight class, but it was victories by Bradley Jones and Logan Corwin in the final two matches that lifted the Bulldogs to victory. Jones won by fall over Jeremiah Jackson in the 215-pound class, and Corwin pinned Tony Dillivan in the 285-pound class to put the Bulldogs over the top.
Gallatin, now 3-2 overall, also received wins from Terrill Wood (103 by forfeit), Levi Michener (112 by pin), Kyle Croy (135 by forfeit), Cody Selby (140 by tech fall), Dale Curtis (152 by pin) and Riley Rains (160 by tech fall).
Gallatin’s Matt Atkinson lost a hard-fought match, 9-15, to Jesse Lykins in the 130-pound class. Nathan Gann (125), Andrew Hood (145), Billy Kerns (171) and Jordan Phelps (189) also competed for the Bulldogs.
Gallatin wrestlers will host the Lathrop Mules Thursday night in non-conference action at GHS, and will compete in the Lathrop Tournament on Saturday.
