In his 30 years in maintenance for the department Butch has spent many hours on roadway projects in the Daviess County and the surrounding area. He has also worked many snowstorms plowing snow and clearing the roads for motorists throughout his career.

Butch and his wife Evelyn live near Pattonsburg. They have one daughter Jessica Barnett. After retirement Butch plans to spend more time trap shooting, and hunting.

A retirement reception was held in his honor on Friday, Dec. 29 at the Coffey building. He was presented with his 30-year service plaque during the reception.

"We want to wish Butch a very long and happy retirement. His years of maintenance experience will be missed," commented Don Wichern, district engineer.
