County Commission
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting tube and culvert replacements.
Kevin Heldenbrand, sheriff, met with the commission regarding hazardous materials along the interstate and other concerns. They also discussed training necessary for certification, and the funding.
The 2007 agreement with Region H Hazardous Materials Response Team was executed.
The commission discussed the recent bids on the excavator and the misrepresentation of the machine purchased in 2002. Following discussion with a representative from Daewoo, assuring that the machine was built in 2006, the commissioners unanimously voted to accept the lowest bid from RTL Equipment for a 2006 excavator.
Bills were audited and paid for the end of the year 2006.
Reta Rains, Collector-Treasurer, met with the commission regarding the process of tax collections in 2007. A change in statutes will make it necessary to have new agreements for the City of Gallatin and the Village of Winston.
Roger Loxterman, City of Gallatin, reported that the exterior lighting will be repaired today. They also discussed the sewer problems at the courthouse. Mr. Loxterman will contact a company in Cameron to locate the problem area. Funds will be budgeted for major repairs to be made in 2007.
Zac Johnson, City of Gallatin Administrator, met with the commission regarding municipal court, tax collections and other mutual interests.

Sheriff’s Office
Jeffrey Kimbal, 27, Gallatin, was arrested Jan. 7 for domestic assault, class C felony, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, both class A misdemeanors. The charges stem from alleged crimes which occurred on Van Buren Street in Gallatin. His bond was set at $35,000. Jaymie Richardson, 24, Gallatin, was also charged with misdemeanor domestic assault, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, in connection with the same incident. Her bond was set at $1,000.
Justin Wiles, 27, Jamesport, was charged Jan. 6 with DWI-persistent offender, class D felony, and misdemeanor resisting arrest and no valid license. He posted $5,000 bond.
Christi L. Houghton, 20, Olathe, Kan., was arrested Jan. 8 for misdemeanor no valid license. She posted $500 bond.
Michael Boeger, 34, St. Joseph was charged Jan. 2 with failure to appear for a probation revocation on an original misdemeanor charge of bad checks. He posted $500 bond.
Donnie Branstetter, 47, Trenton, was charged Jan. 2 for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of passing bad checks. He posted $200 bond.

Traffic Fines
The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $496.50 for nine tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $945 for 13 cases.
