The Gallatin Board of Aldermen adopted an annual budget for the fiscal year beginning on Jan. 1, 2007, during their regular meeting held Wednesday, Dec. 20, at city hall. The budget appropriates funds and sets salaries of city employees.

City Administrator Zac Johnson reported that he had attended a MOPEP meeting Tuesday, Dec. 19, regarding the projections of next year’s wholesale electric bill, which should be comparable to the costs in 2006. Discussion was also held about wind energy.
Mr. Johnson stated he had also attended a Water Partnership Team meeting recently in Maryville, during which water rates from all over Northwest Missouri were compared, revealing that Gallatin has one of the cheapest water rates even with the recent increase.
Chief of Police Mark Richards reported on activity from Dec. 11 to Dec. 20: 1-accident; 2-no insurance; 3-speeding; 1-no headlights; 1-burglary; 2-driving while license suspended;
Chief Richards stated he attended a MARCIT meeting last Friday about policies and procedures.
Bills in the amount of $20,857.56 were approved for payment.
Discussion was held on the Park budget.
The board carried a motion to approve a resolution amending tile fiscal year 2006 budget to reflect actual expenditures.

The board entered into closed session pursuant to legal actions and litigation.
Public comments were made about no parking on either side of the street on the 200 block of East Corrine.
