An elderly Trenton couple, formerly of Jameson, were involved in a two-vehicle accident at about 3:50 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 25, in Boone County, which left Louise Gray, 82, fatally injured, and her husband, Marvin Gray, 80, a passenger in the car, seriously injured.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as Mrs. Gray was eastbound on Dripping Springs Road and failed to yield to a vehicle being driven southbound on Hwy. 63 by Matthew Loring, 19, Columbia. The Gray’s 1989 Buick Park Avenue was struck broadside by Mr. Loring’s 1996 Nissan.

Mrs. Gray, who was not wearing her seat belt, was pronounced dead by Dr. Kessel at University Hospital. Mr. Gray was also taken to University Hospital in Columbia. He was wearing his seat belt.

Mr. Loring, who was wearing his seat belt, was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. Gundy, assisted by Sgt. Cunningham and Tpr. Armistead.
