Letter to the Editor – Pastor Russ Hamilton

I would like to thank the Gallatin Community for their generous support of the Daviess County Senior Center.

 Last year the Center received over $6,000 through our Sponsor A Senior Program. These gifts enabled us to provide 1,298 meals to our home bound seniors.

During the period from Oct. 1, 2005 through Oct. 1, 2006 the Senior Center served 13,198 to 113 different home delivered clients. In addition, the center also provides many nutritious meals to our seniors who gather at the center for fellowship each day. Though the Center receives both federal and state funds we would not be able to provide meals and other services to our community without the donations we received from so many wonderful sponsors.

The Senior Center is continuing the Adopt A Senior program and I would encourage you to join me in supporting this program with a gift of $25 per month or $300 per year to ensue that nutritious meals are available to our senior citizens.
