Gallatin FFA chapter attended National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, this fall.
Members attending included Kari Youtsey, Sam Mott, Laura Youtsey, Megan Chadwick, Kelly Critten, Kaddie Mott, Courtney Ray, Maggie Strange, Kelsey McLaughlin, Lee Deutschman, Matt Pottorff, Kyle Croy, and Derrick Sprague.
All 13 Gallatin FFA members attending served as National Courtesy Corp. members assisting with the behind the scenes operation of the convention.
The Gallatin members took a tour of Kelsay Farms, a modern dairy operation ran by former FFA members that utilized electronic identification. Also members attended a concert given by Carrie Underwood with opening acts including Jason Aldean and Heartland.
Erin Croy won the national Agricultural Education Proficiency Award. Seven Gallatin FFA members received their American FFA Degree on Saturday, including: Erin Croy, Stefanie Dowell, Aaron Everly, Emily Gay, Matthew Hostetler, Kelsie Parker, and John Runde. The American Degree is the highest degree that an FFA member may earn.
Also the Gallatin FFA Chapter received a 2 Star National Chapter Award. This award places the chapter the chapter in the top 2% in the nation.
