On Friday, Nov. 17, 26 enthusiastic fifth graders celebrated Children’s Book Week by attending Searcy Elementary’s 17th annual 5th Grade Reading Sleep Over.
At the event students alternated 30 minute reading periods with activities in the gym. In addition students enjoyed poetry reading with Marilyn Hemry and storytelling in song with Mike and Phillip Arnold. Overnight volunteers were Anita Malo, Theresa Hamilton, Tori Mort, Carrie Crouse, Shelley Elbert, Angelina Meyer, Shelley Salisbury, Margaret Pruitt, Kelly Warren, Phillip Limb, and Sherry Golden.
