They are machine sewn and hand tied. Marie Toney of GHCA said she would begin distributing the quilts for Christmas on Dec. 15 and each new family will receive a quilt. The guild also gave 21 "blankets" to Children’s Mercy Hospital’s Project Linus. The national volunteer project distributes the quilts to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. The quilts will go to infants and children up to 18-years-old. Marie Toney is pictured with four members of the guild, Janice Humphrey and Betty Cooksey on the left side of the table, and Fran Clemens and Shirley Leakey on the right side. There are five other members in the guild.
