Gallatin High School’s financial aid workshop for high school seniors and juniors and their parents has been scheduled at the Gallatin High School library from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
This workshop is a regional one, with Gallatin hosting the event for all seniors from the surrounding school districts. Seniors from Winston, Jamesport, Jameson, Pattonsburg, Breckenridge, Gilman City and Hamilton have been especially invited to attend.
Financial aid professionals from surrounding colleges present the workshop. During the first hour, information will be presented about various types of financial aid. The second hour will be spent completing the application form. Also available will be a representative to discuss investing for college and the A+ Program tuition waiver.
Students and/or parents must complete the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) form to be eligible for grants, loans, and work-study programs. Many scholarships also require the completion of the application. This application will be discussed in detail at the workshop. Participation in the A+ Program also requires completion of the FAFSA.
Seniors should have already received their application forms, which they should bring with them to the workshop. Forms will also be available that night. For more information, contact Gallatin High School Counselor, Jerry Batson at 663-2172.
