Funeral services for Carl McCrary were held Monday at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton. Interment was at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton American Legion Post No. 285, which will be providing military honors for the service.

Carl H. McCrary, 85, Hamilton, died Nov. 23, 2006, at his home.
Mr. McCrary was born on Oct. 30, 1921, in Sheridan Township, Daviess County, to Alva and Bertha Boor McCrary. He graduated from the Breckenridge High School in 1938 and the Hutchinson, Kan., Community College in 1969.
On May 27, 1943, he married LaVina B. Clevenger in Kansas City.
Mr. McCrary was an air traffic control specialist, receiving his training in the Navy, where he was discharged in Jacksonville, Fla., on Dec. 17, 1945, as a specialist-4 2nd class after three years and two months of service.

Mr. McCrary worked for the Federal Aviation Administration with duty at Topeka, Kan.; St. Joseph; Denver, Colo.; Lincoln, Neb.; and Springfield. From 1961 until 1980, he served as chief air traffic control specialist at the Hutchinson air traffic control tower.
Mr. McCrary was a Christian and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. He had been a member of the Baptist Church and later at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Hamilton American Legion Post No. 285 since 1946.
Survivors include his wife, LaVina of the home; two daughters, Elaine Wray, Hutchinson, and Teri Meier, Larned, Kan.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
