The Cardinals jumped out to a 20-0 lead behind star runningback Ethan Harris, who finished with 228 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Comets fought back to take a 21-20 lead, but the game went to overtime when Marionville missed a crucial extra point kick with 22 seconds remaining in regulation that would have won the game.

Marionville’s Lee Flood rushed for 91 yards to set a new Missouri high school single-season rushing record of 3,316 yards. He set the record last season with 3,272 yards.

Marionville beat South Shelby last season in the semifinal round, only to lose to West Platte in the championship game.
