The second P.A.L.S. meeting was held at the elementary school on Thursday, Nov. 9.
Parents Actively Learning Skills is a program offered to kindergarten parents wishing to learn more about early literacy. Kindergarten teacher, kindergarten PLUS teacher, and speech pathologist presented the sessions. Twelve kindergarten families were represented and participated in activities that revolved around the story "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." Topics included: cookie tasting; mouse trap; cookie counting; and ABC tic-tac-toe. Kindergarten students who attended the meeting received a free book. Educational handouts were available for parents. The last meeting for the 2006-2007 school year will be in the spring.
