The Daviess County Health Department recently received the remainder of the 800 doses of flu vaccine it had ordered earlier in the year.

Nurses at the health department plan to hold clinics at each community in the county in the upcoming weeks to better serve their clientele.
Those clinics are as follows: Nov. 16 — Pattonsburg Senior Center from 10-11:30 a.m.; Nov. 17 — Bing’s in Altamont from 8:30-9:30 a.m.; Nov. 17 — Pit Stop in Winston from 10-11 a.m.; Nov. 17 — Cleta’s in Lock Springs from 3-4 p.m.; Nov. 20 — Health Department in Gallatin from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The flu shot is available every Tuesday in the Health Department Office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. while supplies last.
The flu vaccine is offered to ages six months and up. Medicare B and Medicaid will be billed; bring cards. The vaccine is available to Daviess County residents only for the first two weeks. A donation of $15 is suggested for those without Medicare B or Medicaid.
Dates and times for clinics have also been advertised in the Pony Express Shopper. The health department held flu clinics at Jameson, Coffey and Gallatin earlier in the week and at Jamesport earlier today (Wednesday). Nursing home residents and the homebound received a total of 200 flu shots in October.
