Mr. Eastland went over the cost to set up the department with the council and said he had looked into several people he would hire to be his officers if he were hired as the chief of police. Mr. Eastland had been employed as a jail administrator and has worked as a deputy sheriff.

The board motioned to table the matter until the city can look into what the citizens of Pattonsburg would like to do. The city clerk has sent out a questionnaire and the council will get back to Mr. Eastland at a later date. The city clerk has asked the citizens to respond to the questionnaire before Dec. 11 so the matter can be discussed at the next council meeting on Dec. 13

Pat Watkins presented a trash proposal to the council from RW Container in Cameron. The council reviewed his proposal along with a proposal they had received from Veolia. The board accepted the contract with Veolia.

Bills were paid as presented.

A motion carried to get with Jeff Ellis on putting together a new website for the city.

The council voted to continue with the employee-incentive as in previous years. Anyone employed as of Dec. 1, 2006 shall receive this incentive.
