Erin Leigh Croy, 19, of the Gallatin FFA Chapter, was named the national winner of the Agricultural Education – Entrepreneurship/Placement Proficiency award program at the 79th National FFA Convention, Oct. 25-28, in Indianapolis, Ind.
Erin was one of only four people chosen to compete for this award. This was the first year this proficiency area has been awarded, making Erin the first winner at the state and national level.
Erin became eligible for the national award after winning the Missouri state FFA competition earlier this year. Growing up around FFA and agriculture education encouraged Erin to become a voice for agriculture. She participated in a program called Students As Teacher where she worked in the classroom side by side with teachers.
She is a graduate of Gallatin R-5 High School and is currently attending the University of Missouri at Columbia where she is majoring in agricultural education. She is the daughter of Dennis and Sheri Croy. Her FFA advisors are Dennis Croy and Chris Henderson.

Agricultural Education – Entrepreneurship/Placement is one of 51 FFA proficiency award categories offered at local, state and national levels. Agricultural Education – Entrepreneurship/ Placement proficiency award program is sponsored by The James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation/The Lincoln Electric Company, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
