Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Thomas Dorr announced the award of a Distance Learning grant in the amount of $52,969 to the Northwest Distance Learning Consortium to improve distance learning equipment.

The consortium provides services for students and adults in the communities of Pattonsburg, North Daviess, Gilman City, South Harrison and North Harrison.
Fifty seven of the grants, totaling $25,853,991, will fund projects designed to provide improved medical service and 46 will provide improved educational opportunities.
