U.S. Senator Jim Talent (R-Mo.) announced on Oct. 6, that the Department of Homeland Security has awarded a $29,640 grant for the Jamesport Rural Fire Department.

The funds will be used for fire prevention and safety for Missourians in the area.
“These funds will assist the dedicated firefighters in James- port by helping enhance their fire prevention programs,” said Sen. Talent. “The federal government should continue to partner with local communities to protect the safety and security of Missourians.”
The Assistance to Fire- fighters Grant Program awards one-year grants directly to local fire departments, enhancing their abilities to respond to fire and fire-related hazards in their communities.
