Elementary students ‘sign’ the constitution

Covel D Searcy Elementary celebrated Constitution Day on Monday, Sept. 18.

Barbara Youtsey’s third graders learned the sign language for the Preamble to the Constitution and then shared it with other classrooms. The third graders were Morgan Acree, Beau Johnson, Taylor Hogan, Michaela Lynn, Clayton Rouner, Bradley Rhoades, Kharlie Tompkins, Katelyn Robb, and Kaylie Dickson. Also, the fifth graders read their interpretations of the Preamble to the fourth grade. All of the groups worked really hard to learn the words and their meanings.
