County Commission
Richard Morrison, Jefferson Township, met with the commission regarding the availability of scrap lumber from bridges. He was told that the lumber is usually of no value.
Don Ohlberg, bridge foreman, met with the commission regarding equipment repairs and ongoing construction projects.
Bills were audited and paid.
The clerk’s office was contacted with a request from the Ladies Auxiliary, the VFW and Gallatin R-V School for use of the courtyard on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. for a veterans tribute. Permission granted.
Plans for bridge BRO(28) were received from Snyder and Associates, engineering firm. Also, approval was received from Missouri Department of Transportation to proceed with the design phase of BRO (29).
Dave Wilson met with the commission regarding the artifacts from the 1906 time capsule. A method of displaying the items is planned.
Lisa Bielby, Winston R-VI School District, contacted the commission regarding an intersection at 135th and Major Avenue. Brush has been allowed to grow and impede the bus route at that location. A brush letter will be sent.
In the afternoon, the commission inspected the quality of rock at the Norris Quarry on Route C. They agreed to provide rock that will meet the commission’s specifications.
The clerk reported that all ad valorem tax levies, from 57 political subdivisions have been certified.

Nicholas Shinneman, 21, Liberty, was charged Oct. 1 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of no valid license. He posted $600 bond.
Arthur E. Woods, 35, Minneapolis, Minn., was charged Oct. 1 with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He posted $750 bond.
Casey Cross, 27, Perry, Iowa, was arrested Oct. 2 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He posted $750 bond.
Jason Ward, 30, Kearney, was arrested Oct. 3 for misdemeanor passing bad checks. Bond was set at $150. He is also being held on probation violations.
Circuit Court
Three Pattonsburg arsonists who had already entered guilty pleas were sentenced in Law Day proceedings on Oct. 3. Skylar M. Manion, Aaron S. Harmon, and Casey L. Anderson each received a suspended imposition of sentence. They were each placed on five years probation and ordered to participate in the Missouri Post Conviction Drug Treatment Program under RSMo 217.785. They had been involved in the arson of barns in the Pattonsburg area on Halloween night last year.
On Oct. 3, Refugio De La Torre and Jaime De La Torre, both of Houston, Texas, each plead guilty to an amended charge of possession of a controlled substance, class C felony, and each was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections. The cases were heard by Judge Stephen K. Griffin.
