Funeral services for Mary Shipley were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Kansas City Hospice in care of funeral home.

Mary Kathryn Shipley, 74, Pleasant Valley, formerly Jameson, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at her residence.

Mrs. Shipley was born April 2, 1932, to Ray and Elva (Elder) Taylor in Gilman City. She attended school in Jameson.

She was united in marriage to Carroll Shipley on Dec. 30, 1966, in Jameson.

Mrs. Shipley was employed at Farmland Industries as a cashier and secretary, retiring in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, John Beeman, a daughter, Debra Becker, a sister and brother-in-law, Dixie and James Runyan, and a brother-in-law, Joe Rouner.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll, of the home; three daughters, Donna Kay James of Kansas City, Darla Wilmes of Lawson, and Doris Baker of Bethany; one son, Frank Beeman of Pleasant Valley; two sisters, Judy Haddock of Kearney, and Betty Rouner of McFall; three brothers, Bill Taylor of Kearney, Rex Taylor of Richmond, and Bob Taylor of Independence; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
