A Pattonsburg man was moderately injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, in Daviess County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred as Douglas Demoss, 54, Pattonsburg, and James Hulet, 59, McFall, were both northbound on Hwy. 69 three miles north of Pattonsburg. Mr. Hulet was making a left turn and Mr. Demoss struck his vehicle in the rear. Both vehicles came to rest facing northbound.

Mr. Demoss was transported by NTA ambulance to Bethany hospital. He was wearing his seat belt.

The 1991 Chevrolet belonging to Mr. Demoss was totaled. The 1967 Ford belonging to Mr. Hulet was moderately damaged. Both were towed by Bridgemans.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. B E Maudlin. assisted by Cpl. R A Sherman and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.

Summons to Mr. Demoss for following too close.

A Gallatin women received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, at Route A in Caldwell County.

Cheryl Livick, 47, was northbound on Route A, seven miles north of Braymer. Her 1994 Chevrolet crested a hill and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle traveled off of the east side of the roadway, back onto the roadway, and again off of the east side of the roadway, striking the ditch. The Chevrolet overturned once an came to rest on its wheels in the ditch on the east side of the road.

Mrs. Livick was taken by Caldwell County EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center. She was wearing her seat belt.

The vehicle was moderately damaged and towed by Bridgeman’s of Altamont.

The accidents was investigated by Tpr. D.A. Landi, assisted by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, Braymer Fire and Rescue, and Breckenridge Fire and Rescue.

A 16-year-old Iowa youth received minor injuries in an accident involving a car and a tractor trailer at about 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, in Daviess County.

The accident occurred as Larry Cracraft, 49, Albany, and Charlotte Beeson, 54, Des Moines, Iowa, were traveling northbound on I-35 just entering a construction zone at the 67 mile marker seven miles north of Winston. Mrs. Beeson was in the passing lane driving a 1999 Ford and Mr. Cracraft was in the driving lane merging into the passing lane driving a 1993 Freightliner tractor trailer. Mr. Cracraft struck Mrs. Beeson’s vehicle. She lost control, traveled into the median, came back onto the interstate and struck the freightliner. Her vehicle then traveled across the median and came to rest on its wheels on the southbound side of I-35.

A passenger in the Beeson vehicle, Kyle Fleming, 16, Des Moines, Iowa, was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The 1999 Ford was moderately damaged and towed by Bridgeman’s of Altamont and freightliner received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
