190 attend Old Scotland Church on its 150th birthday celebration

Rain on the weekend of August 26 & 27 may have kept some people from attending the 150th anniversary meeting of the Old Scotland Church of Christ, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of over 190 who did attend.

There were people from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington. The youngest in attendance was nine months and oldest was 92 years and about half were direct descendants of early members of the church. There was interesting family history and church history, blended into sermons by descendants of early members. Besides the spiritual food, food for the physical body was also served on Saturday evening and Sunday noon. A special thanks goes to Eugene Kimes of Jamesport for the wonderful smoked meat he prepared for the Saturday evening meal.
