At the 9:30 a.m. worship hour District Superintendent Ronald Graham will speak on the theme of "Homecoming." Invitations have been sent to many who have had associations with the church and it is hoped they will want to "come home" to fellowship with those with whom they worshiped and served in the past.

After worship and before the noon potluck dinner, between 11 a.m-12 noon, guests and "old-timers" will be invited to celebrate by sharing some of their experiences in the life of the church. Some will want to celebrate the building of the current church structure. Others have participated more in the recent improvements, like the new steeple, the new windows, the siding added, the maintenance free metal trim, the air conditioning, the new pew cushions, the new piano, hand bells, two new stoves and the new tables and chairs for the fellowship hall.

Still others will want to celebrate the outreach of the church: full and early payment of annual apportionments for many years, regular giving of food, clothing and money to the Green Hills Community Center, our partnership with a congregation in Mozambique, and substantial monetary gifts to hurricane, tsunami and earthquake victims. All this was a factor in the district recognizing the Kidder United Methodist Church as a Stellar Congregation.

At 2 p.m. there will be a formal dedication of the new stained glass windows. The Windows Committee of Clarice Smith, Kim Evans, Nancy Sandy, Tim Dunaway, Brandon Grooms and George Bauer, will be recognized. Representatives of the Tobiason Glass Company of St. Joseph, Rick and Terri Roder, will be introduced with appreciation for their good work of installing the windows. Three individuals have been invited to give brief messages of congratulations and challenges to the congregation. They are Richard Evans, R.E. Moore and Ronald Graham. A Litany of Dedication will be the final act of commitment for the day.

It is hoped that the community and churches in the area will want to join in what should be a memorable day in the life of the Kidder United Methodist Church. The women of the church will have available beautiful church plates for those who want to memorialize the church. A picture directory may be available for the day as well.
