Graveside services for Kenneth Chadwick were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) with full military honors at White Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were by D.W. Newcomer’s Sons White Chapel, Gladstone.

Kenneth M. Chadwick, 84, Gladstone, died Aug. 5, 2006.

Mr. Chadwick was born in rural Jameson, the son of Loretta Mooney and Marcellus Chadwick.

He lived in Pattonsburg, Kidder and Gallatin and moved to North Kansas City in 1935, where he attended North Kansas City High School and graduated in 1939.

Mr. Chadwick served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a Staff Sergeant. Induction was on July 8, 1942. He began active service on July 22, 1942, and received numerous military honors and awards.

Mr. Chadwick worked for General Motors, Fairfax, Kan., for 30 years and retired in 1978.

He married Betty Sue Fairley on Nov. 4, 1944, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She survives of Gladstone.

Other survivors include two sons, Jack L. Chadwick of Gladstone, and Ronald M. Chadwick of Kansas City; one daughter, Joanna M. Adamek of Victoria, Texas; one sister, Darline C. Smith of North Kansas City; and three grandchildren.
