Two area teenagers were injured in a one-vehicle accident at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, July 28.

Anthony Lovell, 16, Gilman City, was eastbound on Beacon Avenue, 2.5 miles east of Hwy. 13 in Daviess County. He lost control and ran off the left side of the roadway, striking a mailbox, a drain culvert, and a private driveway. The vehicle then became airborne and rolled several times, striking a wood rail fence before it came to a rest on the driver’s side off the north side of Beacon Ave.

Anthony received minor injuries and was taken by NTA Ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital. A passenger, Heath Deskin, 15, Coffey, received moderate injuries and was taken by private vehicle to HCCH. Neither were wearing their seat belt.

The 1998 Ford was totaled and towed by Bethany Tow.

The accident was investigated by Sgt. M.A. Ott, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.

Summons to Mr. Lovell for C&I and no seat belt.

A woman and a teenage passenger received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:35 a.m. on Friday, July 28, in Daviess County.

The accident occurred as a westbound 2004 Dodge Durango driven by Christina Patton, 45, Spickard, ran off of Hwy. 6, about five miles west of Jamesport. Mrs. Patton overcorrected, returned to the road, crossed the centerline, and ran off of the roadway and struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels on the north side of Hwy. 6.

Mrs. Patton was taken by Life Flight Eagle to Heartland in St. Joseph with moderate injuries. A passenger, Thomas Hutton, 15, was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center, with moderate injuries.

The vehicle was towed by Houston Tow of Jamesport.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.R. Johnston, assisted by Cpl. P.M. Kimball, Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, and Gallatin Police Department.

Summons pending.

A mother and her teenage son received moderate injuries when their car was struck by the tow unit from a pickup on I-35 Monday, July 31, at about 11:13 a.m., according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred as Richard Toeneboehn, 39, Gallatin, was southbound on I-35 at Cameron. The tow unit of his 2005 Dodge pickup became detached and traveled across the median into the northbound lanes, striking the left front of a northbound 2001 Acura driven by Leah Kramer, 44, Belton. The towed unit then traveled off the east side of the roadway. Mrs. Kramer’s vehicle also traveled off the east side and overturned twice, coming to rest on its wheels.

Leah Kramer and her son, Jarred, 16, were taken by Cameron Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. All involved were wearing their seat belts.

The pickup received no damage and was driven from the scene. The Acura was totaled and towed by Scotty’s of Cameron

The accident was investigated by Cp. M.S. Belshe, assisted by Tpr. J.R. Johnston, the Cameron Police Department and the Cameron Fire Department.
