"The Fugitives" aired Wednesday evening, Aug. 2nd, on Court T.V, according to co-producer Jessie Findlay (the progrqm will be reshown at 3pm Saturday, Aug. 5 ). The documentary was filmed in Gallatin by Superfine Films out of New York and is expected to re-enact the case of Jennifer Barden. The nine-year-old Searcy Elementary student was abducted off the streets of Gallatin by an escaped convict in 1982.

The program will be on an episode of Psychic Detective and will focus on Joyce Morgan of Kingston. The area psychic has appeared on the show twice before for her assistance in helping police with a case in Polo and another in Kearney. The synopsis for the program on www.courttv.com, reads:

"When two criminals are on the run after breaking out of a Louisiana prison, an army of police officers and guards fan out, but the fugitives’ trail has gone cold. Meanwhile, 900 miles away psychic Joyce Morgan claims she senses violence on the horizon. Can her visions actually help police put two dangerous men back behind bars before their crime spree turns deadly?"

Area people who may appear in the film include Dave and Diane Wilson, owners of the Sandman Motel in Gallatin which took the stead of the Rosehaven Motel in Hamilton where the fugitives stayed; Sheriff Kevin Heldenbrand who played the part of Sheriff Calvin; Don Fritz, one of the original police investigators; Larry Huskey, police officer at the time; and Deputy Sheriff Todd Watson, who played the part of the Texas patrolman who captured one of the fugitives in Texas.

Filming for the show took place in front of the Daviess County Courthouse, the Pit Stop in Winston, and the stucco house located west of the square on Jackson Street in Gallatin.
