A 16-year-old Gallatin girl, Megan Pullen, is currently hospitalized at RUSK in Columbia for therapy and rehabilitation after sustaining an injury during a fall. She was at the Grand River with friends on July 6 when she fell, striking her head on a log with enough force to jam one of her vertebrae into her spinal cord. She was hospitalized in intensive care at KU Medical Center for a couple of days and then transferred to RUSK, where she will have to relearn how to walk. She has regained use of her upper extremities after suffering a short period of paralysis, and will remain at RUSK for intensive physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
A savings account to offset her medical expenses has been established in her name at BTC Bank in Gallatin, thanks to efforts by several of Megan’s teachers at Gallatin R-5. Donations to this account would be very much appreciated.
