Olive Baptist

Bro. David’s Sunday morning message was "the Blessings of the Beatitudes," from Matthew 5. Sarah Ishmael’s children’s message as "How to Settle an Argument," from Acts 15:22. Bro. Ramsey’s Sunday evening Bible study was "Psalms For Jesus," from Luke 24 and Psalm 2.

Gallatin Presbyterian

Rev. Nordvall’s sermon was "Everyone Accountable," based on Roams 1:18-25, 2:11-16. Scripture was read by Chris Diaz. Prayer concerns are for Eula Osborne, Georgia Owings and Isabelle Glaser. Rosie Litton was hostess for the fellowship hour.

Pattonsburg First Baptist

Scripture was Romans 12 17:21 with the message by Pastor Matt Tanner. Sunday School attendance was 43. Announcements were Bible study at 7 on Sunday night, also puppet practice. Tuesday at 1:30 Northridge Bible study. Wednesday night is prayer meeting at 7:30. Children’s camp will be July 31 to Aug. 4. The mission celebration will be in September. Let’s be prepared to glorify God and see what He has for us in this exciting time.

Fairview Community

John Stith read from Psalms 47. Sunday School concluded at I Timothy 3:16. Bro. Davis’ message was "Not Our Home" with text from Leviticus 18:1-5. Special prayers are for Mary Ellen Barker, Phillip Green, Dee Turner, Jared Eaken and Beth Caldwell.

Winston First Baptist

"Like newborn infants desire the unadulterated spiritual milk so that you may grow by it in your salvation," from I Peter 2:2. We had a guest who helped with V.B.S, Daniel Aubuchon, who brought the message, "Fishermen of Men." Sunday evening Bro. Brian Heldenbrand had the message, "The Two Seeds." Brian is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Heldenbrand of Cameron. Saturday night was our family night and cookout and the children’s program from V.B.S. It was well attended.

Next Sunday at 2 p.m. we will have service at the Lake Viking Health Care Center. Wednesday is our mid-week Bible study at 7. July 30 at 6 p.m. is the WAMA meeting at the Fairview Community Church and at 7 is our Fifth Sunday Hymn Sing at Fairview.

We still have several on the prayer list. Words of Wisdom: "Those things that ye have both learned and received and heard and seen in me, do, and the God of peace shall be with you," from Phillipians 4:9.

Jameson First Baptist

Bro. Nathan Kottwity’s morning message was "Choices," from scripture Daniel 3:1-30. Special music was "Open My Eyes, That I May See" by Elaine Bohannon. V.B.S. was held July 17-21 with 37 enrolled, average attendance was 36. Boys offering was $54.03, girls $91.94. This will be sent to World Hunger. Family night was July 21 with a cook-out following. We appreciate all the workers.

Gallatin First Christian

Elder Junior Stith gave the message "Give" based on Isaiah 55:10-13 and II Corinthians 9:6-9. Emily Gay gave the children’s message for first services and Sandy Evens gave the children’s message for the second service. July 30 combined service with breakfast at 9 a.m.

Altamont United Methodist

Children’s time was "When You Forget to Pray, Does it Make a Difference in Your Day?" Barbara Youtsey gave a special reading "Why Go to Church?" Deloris Read and James Wilson lead the special music, "Mansion on the Hilltop."

Ethan Walton gave a report on his church camp study, "Peace Talks and Solutions." Scripture lesson was "We Who Believe are Carefully Joined Together with Christ," from Ephesians 2:22. Pastor Marilyn’s message was "Where God Dwells." Come join us for communion services Sunday, July 30. Bro. Ralph Davis will bring special music.

Seventh-day Adventist

Our Church at Study Bible lesson was on "Daniel 7" and the memory verse was Daniel 7:22. Elder Don Johnson had our church service "The Mind." Scripture reading was Phillipians 2:5.

Prayer concerns are for the families of Woody, Dale, Walker, Muse, Welch, Mead, Weissenback, Galetti, Springer, Wieand and the Bonnetts. We were blessed by a visit from Norma Jean Mohr and family. Melody and Joanna Rockufeler had our special music.

Next week, July 29, is our District Rally at Pershing State Park. Please bring picnic lunches, no hot foods, and lawn chairs and come join us there.

Alta Vista Baptist

Sunday School opened with "Amazing Grace" accompanied by Derek King on the saxophone. Attendance was 59. Prayer concerns this week are for Larry Pittsenbarger, Randy Frazier, Walter Ramsey, Dusty Myers, Sue Pittsenbarger, Patty Akers, Wilma Dean, Jim Carr, Lewis Defries, Twila Hunsicker, Beverly Lang, Howard Trullinger, Arvilla Lubow, Kaye Hunsicker, Mildred Updegraff, Gary Clark, and the family of Jim Morrow.

The VBS program "ARCTIC EDGE – Where Adventure Meets Courage" was held during Worship Service. VBS Director was Loa Parkhurst. Marsha Vanisko led in the singing of "The ABC Peak," "Wherever He Leads I’ll Go," and "Follow." Some classes gave presentations on their favorite story this week. We appreciate everyone who helped to make this VBS a very successful one this year.

A swimming party and picnic has been planned for Aug. 6 at Cameron.

Gallatin First Assembly of God

Thought for the week: Hurting? No one understands like Jesus. Praise reports were given by Mona Roberts and Gloria Lint. Prayer request were for Lonnie Terry, Bernie Cabra, Megan Pullen, Lint’s niece, Carlson’s sister and sister-in-law, friend of Pearl Hagger. Brother Lint’s sermon was from Acts 3:1-8, "What money can’t buy."

Our week of Vacation Bible School was a huge success with 29 kids and two young boys giving their hearts to Jesus. Sunday evening was VBS graduation with fellowship and refreshments following. Wed evening July 26 at 6 p.m., everyone is invited to come and hear Ed and Deb Damphouse in song and preaching.

Gallatin United Methodist

The 11 a.m. service opened with singing "This is the Day." Wayne Wood read Mark 6:30-34 and Rev. Richard Parker read II Samuel 7:1-14, preceding his sermon, "When God Says No." He shared that Thy will be done, not my will be done. The pastor’s children’s sermon shared with them that "Even though God Says No, He Still Loves Us and is Looking Out for Us."

Ruby Circle will meet Monday night at 7 p.m. on July 31 at Sandy Vyrostek’s. Carol Wood will present the program. On July 30 at 12 noon we will have our 5th Sunday dinner right after church. The children will sing. Aug. 16 is the women’s retreat at Seasons on the Square. The program will be "Women’s Circle of Faith." All are encouraged to purchase luminaries for Relay for Life.

Prayer concerns are for Jill McGinnis Gooding, Shirley Wood, Helen and Edgar Muller, Clara Macrander and Rev. Ray Willis.

Pattonsburg Christian

Scripture reading was from Mark 1:14-28. Guest speaker Bro. Mike Palmer’s message was "Counting Our Blessings." Remember in prayer Natalie Kauffman, Judy Vyrostek, Homer McDaniel, Emily Brown, Lori Neal, Betty Cameron, Frances Lowrey, Lyle Warford, Hal Robertson, Miles Bruner, Jackie Emerson. Prayers of sympathy are with the Avonda Hamilton family. Following church on Aug. 6, there will be a 60th wedding anniversary for Paul and Daphna Cummings.
