Daviess County Commission Report
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that they are preparing to pour the concrete deck on the bridge under construction in Salem Township.
Keith Gay, Union Township, met with the commission regarding township road issues.
Bob Burnett, Snyder and Associates, contacted the commission regarding the BRO project in Union Township. He is having some trouble obtaining easements from the property owners.
David Tolen contacted David Gash, State Highway Commission, regarding the public meeting held July 6. Approximately 80 citizens attended the hearing. The 40-foot roadway was the unanimous choice.
Bill Eckert, Jamesport Special Road District, met with the commission regarding bridge problems in that district.
David Wilson, Community Betterment, met with the commission regarding the flag display planned for the second floor hallway.
Bills were audited and paid.
Roger Loxterman, City of Gallatin, met with the commission regarding the lighting on the courthouse. Repairs will be made.
Gene Schweizer met with the commission questioning the school district boundary lines between Gallatin R-5 and North Daviess R-3 schools in section 27 of Grand River Township. Betty Harmison, assessor, also met with them. Several acres and landowners are involved. The commission will discuss the matter with the superintendents of the two schools. No decisions were made.
