Christopher Cameron participated in the Hershey’s Track and Field at Oak Park High School and received first place in the 9-10 year-old division softball throw. He advanced to state which was held in Jefferson City on June 30. Christopher threw 139 feet and seven inches. He received first place and was declared Missouri State Champ. To move on to nationals, Christopher had to have the top score in seven states and Canada. He was notified Wednesday that he had qualified for nationals in Hershey, Penn., to be held Aug. 3-6. Christopher is the son of Charles and Belinda Cameron of Pattonsburg.
