Cheryl was born and raised in Jamesport and graduated from its high school in 1982. She received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from North Central Missouri College in Trenton. In1994 she graduated from Albany, N.Y. College as a Registered Nurse.

Cheryl worked in Dr. Dickinson’s office in Gallatin for a year and then at Hillcrest Manor in Hamilton for 13 years. She was the Director Of Nursing at that care center the last five years. She has worked at the Daviess County Health Department since 1996 as a staff nurse, and was nursing supervisor the last six months.

She and her husband Gary live east of Jamesport. Her mother and father are Roy and Dixie Golden who live in Trenton. She has three brothers and one sister.
