Fourth of July weekend guests of Gene and Kathy Walker were Davey Snead, Kristin Walker, Chris, Jennifer and Laila Troxler, all of Kansas City, and Zachary Troxler of Dallas, Texas. Gene, Kathy and Laila attended a graduation reception for Brennan Leeper, spring graduate of NWMSU.

Kris and Elizabeth Lowrey and sons Travis and Dillon and Dallas Lowrey took part in a benefit fund-raiser for Gary Corzette of Dawn on Saturday. It was a two day evening so Kris and Elizabeth and boys went back on Sunday.
Gary had been seriously injured in an auto accident last winter. He is in an Omaha, Neb., rehabilitation center. An organized weekend of thrashing some 25 acres of oats on the family farm of the Corzettes saw about 300 area neighbors and friends come Saturday, not as many on Sunday. The Hamilton Steam Engine group were part of the workers.
It was done the way thrashing was done years ago with a binder cutting the oats. Then the oats were tied in bundles, loaded on a wagon and pulled by horses from the field to the thrashing machine. The thrashing machine was powered by steam engines.
Elizabeth helped with the food area, as all workers were fed in a machine shed on Elizabeth’s brother, Stanley Maberry’s, farm.
Bruce and Dianna Lawson, Chillicothe, visited Paul Jr and Daphna Cummings Friday afternoon and evening. They all enjoyed eating out together at Cameron.
Betty Rhea, Larry and Gary McNeely, Paul Jr. and Daphna Cummings attended Russell and Marilyn (Warford) Madsen’s 50th wedding anniversary, reception and dinner Saturday afternoon and evening at the Country Club at Liberty.
Judy and Roger Peters were visitors of Julia Cornett on Saturday.
Saturday, July 1, visitors of J.C. and Maudie Youngs were daughter Kathy Ray and friend Char Mitchem and her children Corie and Kayla from Denver, Colo. They spent a week visiting. On July 4 others joined them, including, Carol and Steve Hopkins, Dan and Heather, Mickayla Woody from Albany, Slade, Lexie Morgan and Beagle from Denver, Kirk, Marilyn, Noah, Destiny Wilmers, Albany, Mike and Reta, Melissa, Jess, Tanna, Jacob Youngs, Coffey, Amanda Luhan, Kansas City, Travis Bohannon, Coffey, Letha Shipers, Dale and Jean Frazier, Pattonsburg, July 7 visitors were Mrs. Bernie Keller, Harold Keller and sons of Newton, Iowa. Letha Shipers, Pattonsburg, Rosie and Chad and baby Harley, Oregon.
Beverly Mason went last Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. Danny Mason, Kearney. They returned to her home the evening of the fourth.
July 4 Shirley Fansher, Kansas City, spent the day with Norma Crabtree.
Brianna Weber returned to her home Friday. She had finished the three weeks of school for vision impaired students at Kansas City, Kan.
