Daviess County Genealogical Society
The Daviess County Genealogical Society [DCGS] will meet on Saturday, July 22, at 2 p.m., at the old sheriff’s home of the Squirrel Cage Jail at 310 West Jackson Street in Gallatin. The Society has recently acquired two rooms of the facility and are in the process of renovating the rooms for use for family history researchers. Many items are still needed including: computer, bookshelves, tables, chairs, and air conditioner.
Other donations have already been offered and the meeting will be shortened so that some items can be put in their place. Annual dues of $20 for the upcoming year are due, so if you have not joined but intended to, now is the time to become a part of this exciting, ever growing group of family historians. Contact President Lanita Sconce Smith at 660-684-6174 or email at [email protected] for more information.
