Daviess County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting routine matters.

The commission appointed Annie Gibson to fill the vacancy on the Rural Development Board, following the resignation of Jan Stout.

Nancy Tate met with the commission regarding the allocations to Children’s Mercy Hospital. The commission will contact the Grundy County Commission regarding the trustee annual reports.

Mr. Mitchell, Harrison County, met with the commission regarding the Hwy. 6 improvements scheduled.

The commission received a request for the use of the courtyard for Relay for Life on Aug. 18-19. Granted.

Mr. Jarvis, Grand River Township, met with the Commission requesting that an extension be added to a metal culvert on 225th Street. The commission agreed to purchase the culvert and Mr. Jarvis will take care of the installation.

A representative from Jim Talent’s office met with the commission regarding concerns in Daviess County.

John Gorman met with the commission following the commission’s request to paint the dome of the courthouse. The job will be completed this week.

In the afternoon, the commission inspected CART road #346 in Benton Township. The township has received a .09 mile funding on that road for over five years. The commission also inspected brush in Jefferson Township.
