Jake Alden is working as an intern this summer at the Daviess County Extension office located in the courthouse in Gallatin. As a community service assistant, he will help with 4-H activities and also do office work. Jake recently helped with a two-week 4-H camp in Trenton and will be assisting at the upcoming Daviess County and Jamesport 4-H fairs.

Jake grew up on a diversified livestock farm, raising cattle, sheep and row crops. He graduated from Penny High School at Hamilton in 2004. He received an associates degree in agriculture from Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kan. He will be attending MU this fall to get a degree in animal science and reproduction and will probably go on from there to get his master’s degree.
Jake, 21, lives in Hamilton. His father, Ron, is an ag teacher at Stewartsville. His mother, Judy, is a speech pathologist in the Hamilton school district. He has two younger sisters who go to Penny High School.
