Strein on Rolla’s spring honor roll
Adam Strein, son of Denny and Beth Strein of Lake Viking was recently named to the University of Missouri-Rolla spring honor list. The honor list requires a minimum of 12 hours and a grade point average of 3.2 or above. Adam is a freshman engineering student.
UMR is one of the four University of Missouri campuses and is the state’s primary technological campus.
Western awards scholarships
Missouri Western State University announces recipients of the “Support to Student Scholarship” (STS) for the 2006-2007 academic year. The STS program offers scholarships to currently enrolled students, both half time and full time, who have completed a minimum of 29 hours with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The following students received the scholarships: Gallatin, Rebecca L. Wayne, sophomore; Kidder, Dana L. Hildenbrand, senior, English major.
Julie Macy graduates Summa Cum Laude from MU
Julie Ann Macy, Gallatin, recently graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in health science and master’s in physical therapy from the School of Health Professions at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Macy is a member of Alpha Eta, a national scholastic honor society for allied health professions. She is a 2000 graduate of Gallatin High School and the daughter of Greg and Barbara Macy.

MU’’s primary mission in research and graduate education provides enhanced opportunities and challenges in the undergraduate areas of humanities, arts and sciences, and selected professional fields. The University provides a basis for service to the people of the state through outreach programs.

The University of Missouri-Columbia has announced its graduate list for winter/spring 2006. Students from Daviess County are Kristen Lea Ellis, Juris Doctor Law; Julie Ann Macy, Bachelor of Health Science, Pre-professional, Physical Therapy, Summa Cum Laude, Master Of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy; Scott Michael Wilkinson, Bachelor Of Science In Business Administration.
Graceland honor roll
The honor roll lists for Graceland University’s spring 2006 term have been announced. Students named to the president’s list earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Students from our area on the President’s List include: McKinzie Pendleton from Gallatin.
MWSU honor roll
Missouri Western State University has announced the names of the students selected to its President’s Honor Roll for the spring semester 2006. Students who have carried 12 hours or more for graded credit and have earned a perfect grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the President’s Honor Roll. Area students include Melanie Jo (VanBelkum) Muller, St. Joseph.
MWSU graduate
Recent graduate of Missouri Western State University includes Brice Garnett, son of Tom and Nancy Garnett of Gallatin. He received a B.S. degree in business. Brice was also a class member of the Gallatin High School Class of 200. He is currently participating in the Tight Lies Pro Golf tour.
